Course Readings

About the Syllabus Service:

The Syllabus Service lets you send library staff your syllabus or reading list, and we'll handle the rest. Wherever possible, materials will be made available online. We will:

• Enter citation information into the Course Readings system for each item
• Scan and upload print book chapters and articles as high-quality, text-to-speech compatible PDFs
• Ensure stable links to online resources
• Arrange for short-term loan of physical items from your preferred library location
• Place requests for new purchases for the Western Libraries collection
• Apply copyright rationale and, where required, obtain copyright clearance from the rightsholder

To submit your syllabus:

1. Choose a current or upcoming course

2. Select "Add Course Readings"

3. Choose the "Syllabus Service" form

4. Upload your syllabus as a Word of PDF document

Syllabus Service

• Consider that new purchases, items to be acquired via Interlibrary Loans, and items requiring copyright clearance may take longer to be made available

• Submit individual request forms for items you intend to supply, e.g.: personal copies of books or media, previously scanned books or articles, etc., or are requesting the library purchase

• Ensure your syllabus includes complete citation information

• Indicate a loan period for hard copy items, if you have a preference
