Sociology 2241E - Men and Women in Society: Gender Issues in Sociology

Citing Your Sources

The two commonly used citation styles for sociology are APA (American Psychological Association) and ASA (American Sociological Association).

Visit the library's Citing and Writing page for a full list of citation style guides.

Another great resource is the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL).  Visit their website for APA and ASA guides, among other citation styles.

Citation Management Tools

While researching for your paper, use a citation management tool such as ZoteroMendeley, or EndNote to keep track of your sources.

These tools make compiling your bibliography quick and easy.  Visit the Citation Management Software page to get started.

Be careful to cite all your sources to avoid plagiarism.  Not all plagiarism is intentional, but it is still an academic offence.  Visit the Western Libraries' page about Plagiarism to learn more.
