    The Consumer and Patient Health Information Section (CAPHIS) of the Medical Library Association evaluates websites based on the following criteria: credibility, sponsorship/authorship, content, audience, currency, disclosure, purpose, links, design, interactivity, and disclaimers. CAPHIS has selected the top health websites in categories such as General Health, Breast Cancer, Diabetes, Eye Disease, Heart Disease, HIV/ AIDs and Stroke information.

    The Consumer Health Information Providers Interest Group (CHIPIG) is a voluntary association of persons, who share an interest in the provision of health information to the general public. CHIPIG is an official interest group of the Canadian Health Libraries Association, Canada's professional organization for health librarians. This service is produced by the National Library of Medicine, which is the world's largest medical library, and is available to anyone for free. There is information available about diseases, conditions and wellness issues written in language that is easy to understand.
