Broadest database:

  • Google Scholar (or even just Google) tries to cover all subjects, to varying degrees, and provide information about cited and citing articles through an easy-to-use interface. However it lacks certain features available in some of Western Libraries' licensed databases, such as controlled vocabulary. Google Scholar setting may be configured to provide links to Western Libraries' online collections

  • e.g. loan of books, copies (usually digital scans) of journal articles
  • can be ordered from another institution through the library catalogue (Omni)
