Western University Open Repository

Home

Western University's Open Repository is an open access digital repository that collects, archives, preserves and freely disseminates electronic copies of scholarly material related to research and teaching at the University of Western Ontario. It aims to facilitate knowledge sharing and broaden the international recognition of Western’s academic excellence by providing open access to the scholarly contributions of our campus community. By providing an open access environment for researchers to archive and share their research, the Open Repository enables compliance with the Tri-Agency Open Access Policy on Publications.

The platform is powered by Scholaris, a national shared repository service developed by the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL), Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL). The shared technical infrastructure is hosted and managed by Scholars Portal, and uses DSpace open source repository software.

Our Services:

The Western University Open Repository offers a streamlined self-submission process verified by Western Libraries staff. We also support researchers by submitting materials on their behalf, helping determine if their material is appropriate for deposit, evaluating licenses and publisher permissions, and registering DOIs on request. Please contact rsclib@uwo.ca for assistance.

All items in the Open Repository must have a file, and cannot exist as a metadata-only record.
