There are two key citation styles, ACS and RSC.

• ACS citation style is outlined in the The ACS Guide to Scholarly Communication, 2020. Also refer to ACS Style Guide, 3rd ed., Chapter 14, 2006, or UW-Madison Libraries' quick guide on the Web.
• RSC style guidelines are part of their guidelines for authors.
