Welcome to the English 'Program Guides' page, a research guide developed to direct members of the Western community. This page will continue to evolve.
Although there is no standard citation style for language and literature, MLA (Modern Language Association) Style is often used, and is commonly required in undergraduate English courses here at Western. The D.B. Weldon Library has developed an online guide to help answer students' frequently-asked questions about citing sources in MLA Style. Students who require more in-depth assistance with citing their sources are advised to consult the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (8th ed.) directly.
