In 2015, Statistics Canada partnered again with Health Canada to repeat the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS), Nutrition focus. Like its predecessor, the 2004 CCHS cycle 2.2, (known henceforth as 2004 CCHS-Nutrition), the survey provides detailed information at the national and provincial levels, on food consumption using a 24-hour dietary recall for the total sample and a repeat sub-sample, nutrient supplement intake, physical measurements, household food insecurity, and other topics that support the interpretation of the 24-hour recall. It also allows the evaluation of changes that have occurred since the 2004 CCHS-Nutrition was done.

Health Canada, in a joint venture with Statistics Canada has produced 40 summary data tables compiling the usual intakes from food of 30 nutrients and other dietary components obtained by Canadians in 2004. For nutrients that have Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs), the tables also compare usual intakes to the DRIs. The nutrient intakes represent food consumption; data on nutrient intakes from vitamin and mineral supplements were still being validated at the time these tables were compiled. Data used for producing the tables were obtained from the CCHS 2.2 Share File, which can be found through Statistics Canada. An assessment of the data was done against the Dietary Reference Intakes and results are presented by life stage at the national level.
